Ngari Khangtsen monks will create ritual cakes (torma) made from roasted barley flour (tsam-pa) and offered during tantric rituals.
Tormas are created in many different shapes and sizes. The deity and puja being performed dictates the style of torma used. Tormas are offered for many reasons; sometimes simply as an act of generosity, to appease angry protectors, or even to bargain with other worldly beings.
Time needed: one hour.
Minimum suggested donation: € 6 entrance fee for a public event. € 250 for a private event. € 10/person.
The monks will introduce the basic tools and technics of this very old tradition during workshop for children.
